Wake Up

Xǐng lái

Wake Up

Nailed to the floor
Awoke in a rubber body

Only to move
As far as 
As stretch was possible

Then to snap
Back to the floor
The nails
To start again

To wake late in the day
In the full furnace
 Of the summer sun

Slithering toward the twilight
Into the thunder
Of a storm

Rolling up a number
Confronting the pain

Lighting some hope
Lightning in the sky

The cool breeze 
Upon the skin 

Starts the flow
Of life again

Lifting the 
Lifeless carcass 

Slowly again

To Stand

To Live
